Prior to moving to Seattle, Alexis taught high school band for two years in Cave Junction, Oregon.

Alexis was born and raised in Thousand Oaks, California and started playing saxophone in 4th grade. Alexis was part of the Studio Jazz Ensemble at Westlake High School in 2014-15 when they won a Downbeat Award and performed at the Monterey Jazz Festival.

After graduating high school in 2015, Alexis attended the University of Oregon where she earned two bachelors degrees in music education and jazz studies. She studied saxophone and jazz improvisation with Idit Shner and Steve Owen. While in school, Alexis gained experience in playing freelance gigs, leading ensemble rehearsals, teaching saxophone lessons, and writing music. Some of her most notable accomplishments include student teaching at Willamette High School in 2021, performing her original compositions at the North American Saxophone Alliance Region 1 Conference in 2019, and touring with the Oregon Jazz Ensemble throughout Europe in 2018.
